Species Information

Summary:
{See also Red Ramaria Table.} Ramaria cyaneigranosa var. persicina is small and fan-like, with peach or salmon branches that have minutely yellow-dotted tips.

It has been found at least in WA (Marr). There is a collection from BC at the University of British Columbia.
Fruiting body:
3-4cm wide, 7-8cm high, usually flattened and fan-like; slender, mostly forked near tips, tips +/- pointed, (Scates-Barnhart), approximately four or more elongated primary branches arising from single base, about 3.5cm long, subsequently redividing about twice within 1cm from the tips, mostly trichotomous or polychotomous, branches slender in size, but cylindric and appearing thick, axils acute and non-divergent to definitely divaricate in the ultimate axil, polynodulose near tips, tips acute, (Marr)
Flesh:
fleshy when young, soft-stringy when old; colored like surface, (Scates-Barnhart), fleshy fibrous when fresh, (Marr)
Branch color:
light peach-pink (salmon to peach); tips yellow, (Scates-Barnhart), salmon; tips minutely dotted with yellow, (Exeter(1))
Stem:
2cm x 1cm, single, steeply tapered; base white; covered by white basal tomentum, (Marr)
Chemical Reactions:
stem flesh non-amyloid; ferric sulphate in water on stem flesh negative, (Exeter(3))

Microscopic:
spores 7-11 x 3.5-6 microns, average 9.6 x 4.7 microns, small lobed warts, basidia with protoplasm granular and cyanophilous, (Exeter(1)), other structures similar to other varieties of R. cyaneigranosa, (Marr), basidia not clamped (Exeter(3))
